Experience
I am an aspiring teacher. I am driven to educate myself on the latest pedagogical methods to give students a passion for learning. My main goal as a teacher is to help my students reach their highest potential. I am well versed and able to help with all of the English related school subjects. If you need assistance with reading, writing, grammar and mechanics, literature, or public speaking, I am here to help. I am also passionate about working with special needs students. Currently, I am in grad school earning a master's in Special Education. There are always more current ways to help children learn, and reach higher expectations of themselves through gaining knowledge. I want to make sure that the children that I teach get the education they deserve, so I work hard in my studies. I earned a bachelor's degree in English (K-12) and a certificate in teaching students with disabilities from Centenary College. I graduated summa cum laude. My tutoring style focuses on using a wide variety of teaching techniques. I use the learning models of VAKT multi-sensory teaching. I also use Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligence. Presently, I am a teacher at Livingston High School. I have found that some of the best qualities I have as a teacher are my passionate nature, my flexibility, and my compassion. I believe that effective pedagogy is centered around reflective growth and continuous learning. I strive to guide and nurture my students to give them the confidence and self esteem they need to be successful.
