Experience
Tutoring Experience: I have tutored since 2014 both independently and with organizations. I have tutored with Honor Societies at Mount Olive High School, and with volunteer organizations in Providence, RI. I am currently employed as a Teaching Assistant for a Brown University Chemistry course. Test Scores: AP - Biology (5), Chemistry (5), Calculus AB (5), Calculus BC (5, sub: 5), English Language (5), Research (5), Seminar (4), Statistics (4), US History (4) SAT - 1390 Composite (new), 710 Math (new), 680 Verbal (new), 780 Math Level 2, 700 Biology ACT - 33 Composite, 35 English, 34 Math, 30 Reading, 31 Science Teaching Statement: As an educator, my main goal is to give students the toolbox to be able to troubleshoot their own academic struggles in order to become better scholars and better problem-solvers. As an Ivy League student, I have learned over the years that better students are not made just by studying harder, but studying smarter - by stepping back and evaluating your own performance so that you can identify by yourself where you need to make improvement. I am a huge fan of facilitating rather than lecturing, and was able to fine-tune my facilitating and teaching skills this past semester by being a Teaching Assistant for a Brown University general chemistry course where I ran extra-help and problem-solving sessions.

Hobbies
Recreationally, I love playing the piano and violin. I mainly just play pop song covers because I find them easier and more fun to learn and play. Exercise-wise I love running (I ran track in high school) and snowboarding. Academically, I love chemistry and biology. With Brown University's Open Curriculum I have not had to make a decision between the two yet, but will likely have to in the future. I love the puzzle-like and problem-solving process of chemistry but also the intricateness and emerging effects made evident in biology so it will be a tough choice. I recently decided to add Education as a major after I enjoyed a few Education classes I took and realized that the policy track in Education interests me.
